Pham Xuan Dzung graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He then went to graduate school at University of North Carolina and graduated with MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering. Currently, he is a professor at University of Houston and a Director of Power System Analysis for Reliant, Inc.

He attends the Vietnam Baptist Church at West Memorial in Houston, Texas. Their pastor is Rev. Le Thanh Nhon. Anh Dzung is the Music Director and the Youth Director for his church. They have a 15-member orchestra that leads worship every Sunday.

His wife is Kim-Chi. They have three children, Jaimie (7 years old), Jacqueline (4 years old), and Jeremiah (1 and a half years old).
